Eligibility
Both male and female candidates are allowed to apply for NDA exam.
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old, and the given birth date limit will be mentioned in the notification to be eligible for the NDA exam.
Educational Qualification
For the Army Wing, candidates need a passing certificate in the 10+2 examination. Those aspiring to join the Air Force and Naval Wings must have completed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Training
NDA training consists of three years at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, followed by one year of specialized training at the respective service academy, totaling a four-year program before commissioning as an officer in the Indian Armed Forces
Salary, Ranks and Promotion

An NDA (National Defence Academy) candidate receives a monthly stipend of INR 56,100 during the training period, after which they start as a Lieutenant with a basic pay ranging from INR 56,100 to INR 1,77,500 per month (Pay level -10).

SELECTION PROCEDURE

UPSC NDA & NA EXAMINATION
Conducted twice a year with two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test. To get qualified one must score above the cutoff level.

SSB Interview
A 5-day process including screening, psychology tests, group tasks, personal interview, and conference to assess Officer Like Qualities. One need to get recommended by SSB which is the second step.

Medical Examination
Comprehensive health check in military hospitals covering eyesight, hearing, fitness standards, and absence of diseases or deformities.
4
Final Merit List
Prepared by UPSC on the basis of written Exam score and SSB marks. Only medically fit candidates are considered for admission to NDA.
